The Moment
Bois D'Ébène doesn't hit you with wood the way the name suggests. Instead, it opens soft and powdery, fresh in a way that soothes rather than sharpens. There's amber underneath, warm and unhurried, with just a hint of patchouli rounding things out.
This is the kind of fragrance that disappears into your skin and stays close. It's not loud, not demanding, more of a presence that makes you smell put together without effort. It layers beautifully if you want to add depth, or works perfectly on its own for everyday wear.
If you want something sophisticated but effortless, something that feels expensive without announcing itself, this is where to start. Unisex, versatile, impossible to get wrong.
The House
Founded in Grasse in 2019 by master perfumer Aurélien Guichard, a man who doesn't just create fragrances, he grows them.
His family has farmed rose centifolia and lavender in the south of France for generations. He replanted those fields himself in 2016. Matière Première means raw material.
Every fragrance is built around one single ingredient in its purest, most concentrated form. Farm to bottle. Nothing in between.
